1.1. International Union of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities

1.2. Public Union “International Union of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities”

(hereinafter referred to as the “Union”) is a non-profit public association founded by legal entities to fulfill the objectives and tasks defined by this Charter. The Union is established, registered, and operates in accordance with the laws governing the activities of public associations in Ukraine, the Constitution of Ukraine, the current legislation of Ukraine, and the legislation of the states where it operates.

1.3. The Union cooperates with organizations of persons with disabilities in the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Moldova, and other post-Soviet countries.

1.4. Name of the Union:

  • Full name: Public Union “International Union of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities”
  • Short name: PU “International Union of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities”

1.5. Name of the Union in foreign languages:

  • In Russian: Международный Союз организаций лиц с инвалидностью
  • In English: International Union of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities

1.6. Legal Address of the PU “International Union of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities”:

04071, Ukraine, Kyiv, Nyzhniy Val Street, 23-D.

1.7. Documents submitted to the Union must be translated into one of the following languages: Russian, Ukrainian, or English, with the translation certified by a competent authority in the country where the submitting organization is located.

1.8. The Union operates in compliance with:

  • The Constitution of Ukraine,
  • The Civil Code of Ukraine,
  • The Tax Code of Ukraine,
  • The Law of Ukraine “On Public Associations”,
  • The Law of Ukraine “On State Registration of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs, and Public Formations”,
  • Other applicable legislation of Ukraine, and this Charter.
    The legal framework of the Union also includes regulatory documents and general decisions adopted within its statutory powers, which are binding on all members.

1.9. The Union is founded and operates on the principles of:

Voluntary membership, Equality of its members, Self-governance, Rule of law, and Transparency.
The Union is free to determine its activities, and restrictions may only be imposed by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine. Interference by state authorities or officials in the Union’s activities, as well as interference by the Union in the work of state bodies, officials, or other public associations, is prohibited, except where provided by law.

1.10. The Union is a non-profit organization, and its primary purpose is not profit-making. It operates on the principles of:

Voluntary participation, Self-management, Freedom to choose its operational territory, Equality before the law, No proprietary interest of its members, Transparency, Openness, and Public accountability.
